[The scene is a small, movie theatre-style lobby. In the foreground is an L-shaped couch with a mahogany coffeetable in front of it. Behind that is the concession stand, closed, with a sign hanging from one of the tills saying, "No concessions shall be made for the likes of you." There is an old-fashioned revolving door (see, this place *is* evil), and a hallway opposite it. A girl walks out of the hallway. She is smallish, with large honey-brown eyes, and several feet of pale blonde hair trailing behind her. She is wearing a white tank-top and a pair of white boxer shorts. She has a toothbrush hanging out from one corner of her mouth. On the TV in front of the coffeetable, a large red button is flashing. The girl looks at it curiously, then presses it. The TV flashes on, startling the young girl. Kaysa's green-haired, grey-eyed, bespectacled face is glaring out at her.] Madison: Kaysa-san? Kaysa: That's Kaysa-sama to you, underling. Now get your little partners in crime up. We have an experiment to run. Madison: But, Kaysa-sama, it's 5:00 in the morning. I'm only up because I'm used to getting up this early for NERV. Kaysa: Just do it, ninny-hammer. Madison: Okay, Kaysa-sama. [Madison wanders down the hall, and calls into the bedroom that the girls share, and the bedroom Seth has to himself.] Madison: Hey, wake up everyone. Guybrush and Elaine are calling. [Seth sits up and the first thing he sees is Madison in her night clothes leaning into his room. He does what any anime guy would do: he gets a nosebleed.] Seth: I'll be ride oud. Just led be ged a Kleedex. Madison: Alright. [The girls walk out into the foyer of the theater, Madison in the clothes described before, Len is a long black T-shirt, and Mai-Yu in a pair of flannel pajamas.] Len: *aggravated* Sir, what is the meaning of this? Kaysa: I'm glad you asked! Not only will this increase your pain exponentially, but I have a lot to do today and can't waste time on insignificant insects like you. Have fun! send them the fic, Mayuko. Mayuko: Whatever. [Red lights flash and Klaxons blare.] All: WE'VE GOT FANFIC SIGN!!! Len: Hey, you guys are getting the hang of this. Door Sequence [Dog bone...6...5...4...3...2...1] [They sit down in the front seats of a theatre, from left to right, Seth, Mai-Yu, Madison, and Len.] Madison: Will this be fun like the last time? Len: Evil child. Seth: Well, it's the same fic, so you'll probably enjoy it. >A/N: Exams are finally over.Yay! I can post more now! All Except Madison: No! Madison: Yay! > Thank you all for >reviewing, it means a lot to me, *hint hint*. I want to give a shout out Len: Yeah, she'll be shouting if I get to her. Mai-Yu: Now, now...you know the rules. Len: Blah. >to Jello, Fara and Kronos, you guy’s rock. Enjoy. Madison: Well, if it's their rock, you should give it back. >********************************************* Seth: I'm thinking Leonard Maltin should switch to de-caf. >The ground is really shaking now, and I hear Fuuma whispering something to >me. As soon as Madison: ...That's one way to say it, I suppose. >I’ve done it he quickly moves his hand away. I suppose he wasn’t expecting >that. Seth: No, I'll bet he wasn't! >Before either of us move another inch or say anything else the ground stops >shaking Len: Ah, an attack by the Chi no Ryu. Mai-Yu:(Insane Kotori) Tee-hee. He looks around almost Madison: So, he doesn't quite look around. >anxiously and then gives me his hand. I take it but it feels awkward. >I know this sounds odd, but it really does. Seth:(Ominous voice) KAMUI IS YOUR... Madison: You guys have a Dark Kamui fixation, don't you? > Subsequently I quickly stand up >and then he looks me over and literally runs off. Mai-Yu: Give him time, Kamui. He's still sensitive about his sexual orientation. >I stand there looking like an idiot before I realize that classes have >started again. Len: Nope, definitely not too quick on the uptake. > /thanks Fuuma/ I think. I’ve ended up not being late for >class after all. I take my seat and listen to the teacher yak on about All: Second Impact. >how school for the rest of the day is cancelled and that we get to go home. >Everyone in the class starts to cheer and pack up. Mai-Yu:(student) Yay! We get to avoid several hours of listening to him yammer on about Second Impact. > Hokuto turns over >to me and looks worried. Seth:(Hokuto) You look a little pale...Oh, nevermind. Your always like that. >"Kamui-kun, Subaru asked me to tell you that he’s sorry but he can’t get >together with you tonight," she begins, "we have to go straight home." Madison:(Hokuto) Subaru kept muttering something about "getting that damnable tree if it kills him". I'm not sure what's going on. Len: Did you just swear?! Madison: *primly* No. Hokuto did, and only because she was quoting Subaru. >"That’s all right, I should go and find my aunt anyways," I reply Seth:(Kamui) She said something about meeting me at the Tokagushi shrine. >"Okay, have a goodnight!" Hokuto yells out as she runs out of the >classroom. Mai-Yu:(Kamui) Tell Subaru good luck with the tree. >Another Bye is barely heard by me, and when I look up Fuuma walks past me >with the words leaving his mouth. I only manage to smile before he Len: ...starts pinning me to the wall with large peices of glass and a sword. It was most unpleasant. >disappears into the hallway, leaving me to be the only one left in class. I >start to pack up when I hear the teacher call to me. Seth:(Kamui) Tell it I'm not here. >"Kamui, your aunt wants you to meet her in the parking lot," Sensei says to >me Mai-Yu: This can't be good. >"Thank you," I mumble out before leaving. Len: Apparently Kamui agrees with you. >I can see my aunt waiting for me through the hallway windows and she seems >to be trembling and looking frantic. Seth: This is way not good. >I start to run, and while doing so, I’m being told to slow down by a dozen >or so teachers. I’m obviously not listening to them since I begin to run as >fast as I can. Madison: Slow down there! Whoever died isn't going to wake up just because you got there faster. > I just can’t get the look on my aunt’s face out of >my head. Something must be wrong. Len: You're kidding. >Finally, after what’s seems minutes I get to the parking lot. Aunt Tokiko >spots me and waves her arms around. When I get to her she really does look >frantic. She tells me to quickly get into the car and I do so. Mai-Yu:(Tokiko) A Joey "Skinny-Legs" Tagliano asked for you, and he doesn't look happy. >"K.. Kamui,"She begins, "Your mother has been in an accident. The roof of >her office collapsed during the earthquake." Len: See? It was the Chi no Ryu. >"Oh god," Is all I’m able to get out Madison: I told you so. >"Oh Kamui, they said she lost so much blood," She continues. Her voice is >stricken with so much grief, and the tears start to fall from her eyes. Seth: As opposed to her nose. > I can vaguely feel them coming from mine too. Len: Destiny's found you, Kamui. You and Tokiko had better skip town. Mai-Yu: Before the second Shinken decides to make it's presence known. Seth: And Dark Kamui emerges from chrysalis. Madison: *sigh* What am I going to do with you three? >A couple minutes of uncomfortable silence later we finally reach the >hospital. Len:(Tokiko) Well, go faster! >I catch up to her and we walk over to where my mom is. Aunt Tokiko goes >into the room first but I can’t just yet. Mai-Yu:(Kamui) Why? Because the author said so, apparently. > Instead I’m standing outside the >door trying to breath normally again. I hear yelling from >inside the room, then Aunt Tokiko comes running out and runs down the hall >and into the elevator. Madison:(Kamui) Leaving me behind. That's pretty good, considering that she's dead. > She looks like and angel to me, and little do I know how >ironic me saying that is. Seth: ...I'll assume she meant to say "like an angel" and go with it. >I go and sit down next to her bed. I take her hand in mine and kiss it. I >keep it close to my lips for a couple more minutes before letting it go and >then standing up. The room is left with my echoing words. Len: But you haven't said anything. >"Goodbye mother, I love you." Len: Oh. Okay. Madison:(Touru) Later. Seth:(Kamui) What?! Madison:(Touru) *silence* Seth:(Kamui) Huh. Must be hearing things. Madison:(Touru) Hmph...Hee-hee-hee. >I’m now left with the feeling of my heart shattering into a million pieces >and the task of finding my aunt. Mai-Yu: Good luck. >First off this place is huge. Aunt Tokiko could be anywhere. I don’t think >that she would have gone to the car; she would have waited for me. Seth: I don't know. In the state of distress we last saw her, I don't think she'd be thinking too clearly. >With no clue what so ever on where she is, I launch my search for her. Len: Follow the sakura petals. Madison: You'll find her surrounded by sakura petals with a distinctly fist-sized hole through her chest. Seth: Ugh. >As I’m looking around I end up in front of the elevator. Getting in I’m not >quite sure where to go so I press a random button. Mai-Yu:(Kamui) ...and blew up the building. Oops! > It’s taking me to >the parking lot. Seth: Well, so much for that plan. > Now that I’ve gotten to the parking lot I head for our >car. The car is not there. THE CAR IS NOT THERE!!!!!!! All: Whoah! I can’t even >find my way out of a paper bag, how am I going to find my way home? This is >going to be a long night. Madison: Wow, we were right! It is Ryoga! Seth: See? >Having never gone home myself before I’ve decided that I’m going to go >south. Maybe I’ll end up back at the school. Hopefully I will. Mai-Yu: This guy comes up with some fantastic plans, doesn't he? Seth: Yeah, they remind me of some of your better ones, back when you were an Evil Overlord. Mai-Yu: Shut up. >Hopefully. All: Hopefully. >Now that I’ve finally gotten myself outside I realize that it has gotten >quite cold. Len: Brrrr! Madison: Maybe you should have payed attention to the weather report this morning, Kamui-san. > I feel the wind on my exposed skin and I’m whishing that I had >a jacket with me. Seth: Cherry blossom season is in the spring, right? Girls: Yes. Seth: So why is he cold? Len: Maybe it's night. Seth: I didn't think he was at the hospital that long...I mean, it took a few minutes to get there, and he stayed there just long enough to talk to Touru, so it should only be 4:00 at the latest. Len: Um. >The streets seem so calm and peaceful now. If I yelled I probably would be >able to hear my voice echo down the street. As much fun as that sounds I >would feel like an idiot. Mai-Yu: Since it's only 4 and there are still people out and about. >I think that I’m getting close to school. I remember walking by these >houses and I remember this street. Yes! I am at school. All Except Madison: *bored* Yay. Madison: *cheery* Oh good, he can go home now! > I can go home now. >Now that I know where I am I’m on my way home. Madison: See? Mai-Yu: How do you stay like this? Madison: Like what? Mai-Yu: Never mind. >My thoughts go out to my aunt, who is still missing. I hope that she’s home >so I’ll know that she’s okay. Seth: There goes Murphy's Law again. >Finally after what seems like an eternity I’m home. The lights are off and >the door is locked. Not good. I go in and call out for my aunt. Seth: How did he get in if the door is locked? > No response. I go into the kitchen and check the answering machine. >No messages. Now I’m really worried. Len: It's only time to worry if you see flower petals on the floor. >I just want to crawl into a hole and hide. Or better yet I want to >disappear. Thoughts like these run through my head as I lye down and Mai-Yu: ...start washing dishes. Get it? Lye? Like the soap? Hahahaha... OW! ...Thank you, Seth. I needed that. Seth: *rubs hand* Just doing my duty, sir. >start crying. I can’t help it, my mom is dyeing and my aunt is missing. Madison: Don't worry, Kamui. Tokiko's gone to the great big sakura tree...in Ueno Park. >I ‘m all alone. I stay in this position for a while. I’m awakened from my >dark thoughts by the phone. Len:(phone) Bring. Bring! BRING! Wake up, kid! >I know it’s the hospital telling me that mom is dead. All I have to do is >answer for it to be confirmed. With whatever strength and dignity I have >left I answer it. Seth:(Kamui) Hello? Subaru Sumeragi? Can I take a message? Okay, let me get a pen...Okay, Seishirou Sakurazuka says to stay away from the tree. Got it. Thank you for calling. *click* Wierdo. > She’s dead. Dead. Len:(poet) Die die die die die! Mai-Yu:(audience) You first. > I put the phone down and let >out an enormous scream. My tears come all over again and I fall to the >floor sobbing. Madison: Poor Kamui! Len: Just wait 'till he hears about the whole Destiny thing. >All this pain is racking through my body and it hurts so much. Seth: We feel your pain. Trust me, we do. >After suffering so much I’ve finally passed out from the pain. Mai-Yu: Wow! Man, if he thinks this is bad, I can't wait until he meets Dark Kamui! Seth: You are a sick child. >Perhaps tomorrow will be a better day or perhaps it will be a continuation >of today. All I know is that right now all I want is someone to take all >the pain away. Madison: Awww! I'd cuddle you, but I can't reach you from here. >Unfortunately, I’m still alone and afraid. >******************************************** Seth: You know, some constellations are considered signs of imminent doom. >A/N: Sorry that I haven't updated recently it's just that FF.Net hasn't >been working and I got a case of writers block. By the way does anyone know >how to spell Kamui's mother's name? If so PLEASE tell me! Thanx. Seth: T-O-U-R-U. Like M-O-N-O-U. ****************************** >Drip drop, drip drop, drip drop. Mai-Yu: Chinese water torture. >As I slowly open my eyes I notice two things, I've fallen onto the floor >and there's water dropping onto my face. Len:(Kamui) Okay, who installed faucet directly over my head?! >I take a couple of seconds of just lying there before I move to get up and >stretch. Madison: Goodness, he must be awfully stiff after sleeping on the floor all night. Seth: *starts coughing* Len: Now who's thinking dirty thoughts? Seth: *blushes* Madison: Huh? >I turn to look at the clock and it's flashing 12pm. I really slept in >and now it's too late to go to school. Oh the humanity. yeah right. Len: Uh, Kamui? When it flashes 12:00, the clock needs to be set. >Now that I've figured out one thing in this big mess of my life I need to >still find out where Aunt Tokiko is. As peculiar as this sounds I dreamt >about Aunt Tokiko and a big Sakura tree. Madison: Oh my. It seems that Tokiko's sakura food. Seth: Wow. That sucks. Len:(Sakura Tree) Mmm. Shinkeny. > What these two things have >in common is beyond me. My brain just happens to work in mysterious ways. Mai-Yu: Wait a minute. does this mean that Kamui's a yumemi in this story? Seth: That's...wierd, sir. >Back to the task on hand and trying desperately not to lose my sanity. All: *break up laughing* Mai-Yu: Too late for that! > Without realizing it I've found my way into the kitchen and notice >that the answering in flashing. Maybe Aunt Tokiko left a message or maybe >it's the school. Either way I need to find out. Len: Or maybe it's Seishirou Sakurazuka calling to tell you that you're next. >In one quick motion I press the button that allows me to hear the message. Madison: But doesn't it generally take only one motion? >" This is Tokyo General Hospital. Mr. Shirou you are needed to sign release >papers that allows your mother's body to leave the hospital and Seth:(hospital) We don't know why we're leaving this message for you and not your aunt, but hey, what the heck. > go to the funeral home. We need this done A.S.A.P. Thank you for >your time and co-operation." Seth:(hosptial) We need to get her out of here before rigor mortis really starts to set in and she starts making distressing noises and bothering the other patients. >Then the line goes dead. Mai-Yu:(Kamui) Just like good ol' Mom. Seth: Argh. >Okay, not what I was expecting, but it is something for me to do and get me >out of the house. So I quickly get changed and make my way out. Len: Make sure you don't get lost going to the door. Madison: To be perfectly honest, I wouldn't be surprised. > Without the car, which is still with Aunt Tokiko, I'm forced to walk Seth: Well, actually, it's probably with Seishirou, now. >over to the hospital. The only good thing about this is that I'm getting >some exercise out. I know it's out of place to speak of, but >its true! Len: Well, look at us. We're making fun of the whole thing. >As I recall, getting to the hospital I need to pass by my school. I could >stop there and get my work but they might make me stay for the rest of the >day. Mai-Yu:(Kamui) God forbid I learn something or take my mind off my problems. > That is something that I can't do. Well then, stopping by >the school is not an option, I'll just have to walk quickly by it or run. >Running sounds like the best option to me. I'll just have to see. Madison:(Unicorn) Never run from immortals. It draws their attention. >With at least some knowledge about what I'm going to do, it is time to Seth: It's more than this guy usually seems to have. > get a move on things. I'm not quite sure if I've said this before but >walking helps clear my thoughts and when that happens I become oblivious to >the world around me. Madison: Like our author when she's reading. Seth: Madison...fourth wall. Madison: Whoops! sorry. > That's why I never heard my name being called >as I ran by the school, and that's why I freaked out when the person >who was calling my name ran after me and caught my arm. I am a very easy >person to scare. Seth: I don't know, if someone ran up and grabbed my arm, I'd be freaked out, too. >I turn around and come face to face with a panting Fuuma. Len:(Fuuma) Hi *gasp* there. *wheeze* >"Kamui," He begins, " Are you alright? Why aren't you in school? Why >were you running past the school?" Mai-Yu:(Fuuma) Why is the sky blue? Why is nitrogen usually a gas? Well? Well? I'm *waiting*! Madison:(Kamui) Nooooo...Too much pressure! >I can only look at him dumbly before deciding which of his many questions >to ask. It's hard when he's staring at me with those eyes full or worries. >The same eyes that I have seen show no emotion at school and towards >others. /It's odd. / Madison: Awwwwww...they're so cute! >"I-I'm sorry," is all I manage to get out before dashing away. /Great >move genius I yell to myself. / Mai-Yu: Oh, very intelligent, Kamui. >I hear him yell out to me once again and then the calls suddenly stop. I >think that he gave up, but what I don't know is that he's following me. Len: How can you tell us this if you don't know? >Within a couple minutes after my meeting up with Fuuma I reach the >hospital. Not sure on what to do and who to speak with I make my way >to the nurse sitting at the information booth. Madison: Yes, the Information Booth is generally a good place to start when looking for information. >"Well hello there young man. What can I help you with?" She asks so >sweetly. Seth: ...Madison, did you cameo in this fic? Madison: What? No... >"Um, where do I go to sign release papers?" I reply panicky. This gets me a >kindhearted look from her. Seth, Len, and Mai-Yu: *look at Madison suspiciously* Madison: What?! I didn't! >" You need to go to the third door on the left down the hall," she replies. Madison:(nurse) Oh, wait, that's...! Seth:(Kamui) AHHHH! Madison:(nurse) ...X-ray analysis. >" Thank you very much," I say to her as sweetly as possible. I did after >all; make her feel sorry for me. Len: Well, it's not like you did it on purpose or anything. >With that done I walk down the hall to the third door on the left. There's >a symbol on the door that looks like a Ying-Yang. Mai-Yu: Maybe that's where Subaru works on his off-time. > Cautiously I >knock on the door and then walk in. > >A Balding man with chocolate brown eyes is sitting at the front desk. Seth: *smirks* Any relation, Overlord? Mai-Yu: *mildly disturbed* Not that I know of. >Noting that I came in he looks up from the he was reading and waits for me >to speak. Len:(man, imperiously) Well? Speak, worm. Seth: It certainly *sounds* like Mai-Yu. Mai-Yu: Shut up before I am forced to disembowel you, Seth. >" I need to sign release papers for my mother," I tell him. > >"Okay what is you last name?" He asks. Madison:(Kamui) My name is Shirou. Kamui Shirou. >"Shirou," I reply. > >He goes to a cabinet and fishes around before pulling out some papers. Seth:(man) This is a big 'un! You don't see many of these any more! >"I just need you to sign here, here, here, and here," He explains to me. Mai-Yu:(Kamui) What does it say down here about selling my soul to the Adversary? Seth:(Man) Um.... >I sign everywhere that I am supposed to, but it just seems too easy. Then >it hits me. Madison:("It") WHACK! Seth:(Kamui) Ow! Not literally! > I still need to go to a funeral home. Thoughts like >these plague my mind and tears start to show. Len: Well, when you catch the plague, everything will start to water. >The bald guy looks at me and asks if I'm all right. I smile and nod to >reassure him that I am. Mai-Yu: Smile and nod, Kamui. It's the MiSTies' code. >With everything done the bald guy gives me a number to the closet funeral >home and wishes me luck. All:(Dinks from Spaceballs) Dink dink! > Right now I need a lot more than luck on >my side, I need a miracle or two. But, this is I and things hardly ever go >my way. Mai-Yu: Hee-hee-hee. You have no idea, Mr. Fate. >As I walk out of the room I get this feeling that I'm being watched. Not by >the security cameras, but my something else. Seth:(Kamui) Something...sinister. The Rest: Dum-dum-DUM! > What's even weirder is that >on the floor there are Sakura petals on it, and no Sakura trees in sight. Len: Well, I hope not. You're indoors. Mai-Yu: There's some foreshadowing if I ever saw it. >Before my thoughts go into it anymore, I yet again hear my name being >called. I turn around a little too fast and fall into a pair of arms. Seth: Apparently, he is clumsy as well as directionally challenged. >These arms fortunately belong to Fuuma. > >They move around so we are face to face and without realizing it I start to >cry on his shoulder. Not knowing what to do he rubs my back and holds me >rather protectively. Madison: Awwww! It's so sweet! Len: *flatly* I'm getting cavities. >I cry out all the pain and aggravation that I've been feeling to him. Seth:(Fuuma) Uh...that's great, Kamui. >Not realizing it my face moves to closer to his. He looks straight into my >red and puffy eyes and then he lightly kisses me. Madison: Awwwwwwwwww...They're just too cute! ****************************** Seth: It would be several more years before Kamui got his star on the Walk of Fame. Mai-Yu: Alright! We're out of here! Kaysa: *over intercom* Not quite yet. You have one more chapter before you're finished with this section. Len: Awwww...dang! >A/N: Mostly everyone seems a bit OOC in this chapter, especially Fuuma. Seth: The author's admitting it. That's not a good sign. Madison: Relax, Seth-san! It'll be alright! Seth: *blushes* Uh-huh... Mai-Yu: Seth, do you need a time out? > Rightttttt. A BIG thanks to Miuzy for telling me how to spell >Kamui's mom's name. *Hugz* and thank you everyone else who reviewed! Len: Does that include us? >Hmmm well, that's all so enjoy. Mai-Yu: Speak for yourself. Madison: We will, Lianne-san! >***************************** Len: *reading* My horoscope says that that lifetime supply of Twinkies I won turned out to be half a box, indicating that the Hostess Corporation knows something I don't. >Expect the unexpected. Seth: Especially from this fic. >Yes, it is an overly used fraise. All: An overly-used what? Seth: Your word is "phrase". >Yes, it does sound odd coming from me. Mai-Yu: From Kamui? Not particularly. Madison: I imagine Kotori's beheading was quite unexpected. >However, two days ago who would have known that I would end up in the >arms of the school outcast with a heart of gold and eyes to match them. Len: Fuuma's yummy. Sorata's yummier. Mai-Yu: It's the Kansai dialect thing, huh? Len: *dreamily* Yeah... Madison: Wait a minute...I just thought of something. Do the gold eyes mean that he's already Dark Kamui? His eyes were grey before then. >His lips are warm and sweet. His arms make me feel safe and protected. Madison: Awwwww... Len: This isn't going to turn into a lemon, is it? Kaysa:(intercom) NO. >My heart feels like it's going to burst. All the heartache and pain from >the events that have taken place is gone in an instant. All that's left is >an overwhelming feeling of relief and what appears to >be happiness. Seth: However, it only appears to be happiness. >We stand here for what seems like hours just holding each other. The >only reason we move is because a passing by nurse whistles and tells >us to go get a room. Both of us blush at the comment and slowly move >apart. Madison: Um. Why would the nurse do that? I imagine she gets people kissing in the lobby all the time. Mai-Yu: Because she is one rude nurse, apparently. Moving on... >I can see that Fuuma's face is slightly flushed and I feel that mine is >too. I think we both forgot to breath. But come on, with him who needs air? Girls: Whoo! Yeah! Seth: Girls... Mai-Yu: Look who's talking, Blush-O-Matic. Seth: Hey! >I know I sound like a lovesick teenage girl and it's pathetic, but I need >this and I think that in more ways than one Fuuma may need this more than >me. Madison: The poor boy just doesn't realize that people make fun of him to cover their undying passion for him. The Rest: *look at Madison, wide-eyed* Madison: *innocently* What? > I just hope that he will admit it or even better tell >me why. Len: Yeah, that would be nice. >My mind comes crashing back to reality as I realize that I'm sitting >on a bench at the back of the hospital in a tiny park. Seth: *singing* How did I get here? Letting the days go by... > I look around >because I notice that Fuuma isn't with me anymore. I didn't even see him >leave. That is until I hear him speak. Madison: Oh dear. You didn't see him leave until you heard him speak? I'm confused. >"Don't think that you'd get away this easily," Fuuma teases me. All Except Madison: AHHHH! HE'S BACK! Madison: Oh, chill. He's only teasing. He's not out to kill anyone. At the moment. >My face must have lit up when he spoke because his eyes shined brightly at >it. Len:(Kamui) Fuuma, turn down the high-beams! I'm blinded, here! >"Where did you go?" I ask Mai-Yu:(Fuuma) Wouldn't you like to know. Seth:(Kamui) Yes, I would, actually. Mai-Yu:(Fuuma) Oh. >" Just to make a call to Kotori so she knows that I wont be coming home," >Fuuma replies. Seth: I see someone's planned ahead. Len: Hee-hee-hee. >"Thank you," I mumble. > >Seconds go by without either one of us speaking, but some how it feels more >comfortable than awkward. Mai-Yu: You know, comfortable silences is one of the things that marked Neon Exodus Evangelion... Seth: Don't you dare bring DJ Croft into this. Madison: Darn right! I worked at NERV, I had to deal with him! Seth: Wow, you did? Madison: Yes. All the NERV personnel had to. Even those of us who didn't deal much with the pilots. I had a walk-on role when I was working in TechDiv. Seth: Yikes. Madison: You've got that right, Seth-san. > It just feels good to have someone with me >that I know won't disappear and leave me with out a goodbye or and >explanation. /Man am I bitter/ I think. Madison: No, you're angsty and jaded. I'm bitter. Seth: You're bitter? Madison: I was shot. Wouldn't you be? >I can feel my eyes start to tear yet again and I try to hide it from Fuuma. >He looks over to me and gives me a big hug. With his face inches away from >mine he speaks. Madison: I call no "I am your..." jokes! The Rest: Awwww! >"Kamui-Kun, do you want to talk about it?" Fuuma asks me /he called me Kun! >My mind screams in delight/ Madison: Actually, it's more significant that he called you by your given name, but hey, same difference. >"Well," I begin, " I'm not to sure of what has happened but what I do >know is that Mom is dead and Aunt Tokiko is missing. It's, it's, and oh I >don't know. I'm Sorry." Mai-Yu: Why are you apologizing? Len: It's the Shinji reaction. Mai-Yu: I knew that. Seth:(Fuuma) No problem. You should have see what happened to *my* mom. >"There's no need to apologize, I understand," Fuuma reinsures me. Seth: Does he work for Bernardelli? >We once again end up in silence but this time it is the awkward kind. >It doesn't just bother me it bothers Fuuma too. I can tell because he >keeps looking everywhere expect at me. It's really starting to piss >me off, so I lean over and kiss him clumsily on the lips. Madison: How does someone kiss clumsily? Len: Hmm...missing the lips completely, maybe? Seth: Ooo... *winces sympathetically* Mai-Yu: Hmph...Hee-hee-hee. >Fuuma ends the kiss and looks at his watch. > >"We should be going it's getting late," Fuuma says. > >"Oh, um, um, um, Will you stay with me?" I ask just a little too fast. Len: I'm telling you guys... Seth: Yes, yes, we know, Len-san. Mai-Yu: This is all retaliation for Kaysa abandoning you here, isn't it? Len: ...Yes. >Fuuma chuckles, "Of course I will". Madison: That's so sweet! Len: The connotations of all this are flying straight over your head, aren't they? Madison: Connotations? Len: Yup. >So we head on back to my house holding hands along the way. Whoever passes >us doesn't seem to care and that pleases me to no end. Mai-Yu: And confuses us similarly. > Back from >where I'm from if someone saw you like this they do some-oh-not- >so-pleasant things. Len: Wow. It's a lot different from Osaka when I last visited. Madison: You're telling me! My Osaka's underwater. > But we are not there and I don't need to worry about >it anymore. Seth: Ah, Tokyo. Where pretty much every shounen ai manga takes place. I'm not that surprised, really. >Yeah. back to what's happening. We've finally reached my house and we >walk in. No sign of Aunt Tokiko. Not good. Not good at all. Mai-Yu: Have you tried Ueno Park? Len: Or that nice little veterinary clinic nearby? Seth: We don't want to send him to his death, guys. >We decide that Fuuma is going to stay in the living room and I go to >my room. Len: Darn it! >Time seems to be moving extremely slow for me and it feels like I just said >goodnight to Fuuma minutes ago, but in reality it must have >been hours ago. Madison: But I thought time was moving slowly for you? >I hear low noises that sound like whimpering coming from the living room. I >dash into the to see something that I wouldn't expect to see >at all. Mai-Yu:(Kamui) Fuuma menacing Kotori with a *very* large sword. >Fuuma crying in his sleep. Madison: Awwwwwww... >Quickly, I cross the room over to him and sit down next to where he is >lying. I gently shake him and by doing that I get quite a surprise. Len: Hee-hee-hee. Seth: I'm sure it's nothing like that. > Fuuma puts his head in my lap and holds onto me like I would >vanish into thin air. This certainly isn't right. All: Foreshadowing! >"Shhhh, It's okay," I whisper. I tenderly stroke his hair until he calms >down and just has shaky breath. Madison: *singing* Isn't amazing anything's accomplished...when the little sensation gets in your way... >I go to move next to Fuuma on the sofa, but before I can the phone rings. >It's Subaru?! Mai-Yu: No wonder he's surprised. He never gave Subaru his number. Seth: Creepy. Madison: Well, he is an Onmyouji and the most popular and efficient medium in Japan. I think a phone number wouldn't be too hard. >" Hi," I blurt out. Len: You didn't mean to say hi? >"Hey Kamui-kun, sorry to be calling you so late but I wanted to check >that you were all right," Subaru informs me. Seth: Hey, he's not freaking about Subaru refering to him as -kun. >Fuuma does not look happy. Len: Fuuma apparently is, though. All: ...Uh-oh. >" I am, thank you for asking," I reply. > >" Anything for a friend," Subaru says. All: Awwww... Len: If it keeps up this level of WAFF, I'm going to have to get fillings. >" Thanx Su, well I have to go, I'll talk to you later," I say. All: Su?! Madison: That's awfully... Seth: ...Uh... Len: ...familiar. Mai-Yu: Oooo! I smell competition brewing! >"Okay, bye Kamui-kun," with that he hangs up. Mai-Yu:(Subaru) Bye, Shnookums. Len:(Kamui) Bye, Honey-bunch. >As I turn back to Fuuma he has this look on his face that spells out >MURDER. All: AHHHHHH! Madison: I aquiesce! You were right! Seth: Run, Kamui! > I move closer to him and as I do so he moves away from me. We end >up having a staring contest. Len: Then Fuuma lunged at him and started doing horrible things to Kamui's poor defenseless body. Seth: Yikes! Len! Must you do that?! Len: ...Yes. Yes I must. >It is now my turn to break the silence. > >"Fuuma what's wrong?" I ask. > >"Nothing, forget about it," Fuuma almost yells. Mai-Yu: *sing-song* He's jeeeealous! Hee-hee-hee! >With no other option in mind I crawl under the covers with Fuuma and wrap >my arms around him. Len: Swing... > Within minutes Fuuma dozes off in my arms. Len: ...and a miss. > I can >hear all the tiny sounds that houses make at night, like creaking. It is >really starting to creep me out, so for that reason I >go to where I can't hear them. My mind. Seth:(Kamui) Unfortunately, I couldn't hear the rustle of the sakura trees or the sound of the Sakurazukamori coming to kill me off like he did my aunt, either. Oh well. >I take one more look at Fuuma before loosing myself in my thoughts. > >***************************** Seth: Star light, star bright, I wish this fanfic would end tonight. Mai-Yu: Yay! We're out of here. [They stand up and leave the theatre. Door Sequence. 1...2...3...4...5...6...Dog Bone] [They all trudge out of the theater, still in their pajamas. They walk over and face the screen, only to see the bored face of Mayuko.] Mayuko: Hey there, guys. Dr. K put me in charge while she's gone, so I have to tell you the bad news. Mai-Yu: Bad news? Mayuko: there's more coming, as soon as the author finishes the next chapter. Len: You've gotta be kidding! Mayuko: Nope. Oh yeah, and I need your reviews for this chapter. Seth: Well. That was confusing. But good. Sorta. Kind of like the X movie. Len: Dark Kamui is coming! Do you hear me? We must all run for our lives! Oh yeah, and I predict that Kamui with be doing something naughty with *someone* at some during this fic. Mai-Yu: I concur with Len. Dark Kamui is coming. Madison: Well, I don't know about all of you, but I liked it. It was so sweet. It reminds me of poor Shinji and Kaoru. Mayuko: Fine. Enjoy the rest of your fanfic-free day. Press the button, Mayuko. *long pause* Mayuko: Oh. Right.
