Fallsburg Locomotive Works was established
in 1869 to capitalise on the demand for new locomotive power in Legoland.
Over the years, FLW has added innovation after innovation to Legoland's
vast transportation system, including being the first company to use automatic
signal repeaters.
FLW also was the origin of petrol-fired
locomotives, as well as gas turbines. FLW also helped perfect the use of
dual-power AC traction for locomotives that had to travel between electrified
and non-electrified railraods. (such as switchers) It was also FLW that
created the first set of digital controls for trains, allowing faster,
safer operation - trains that could safely travel at speeds approaching
400 dm/h-1.
FLW continues to set the standards in the industry for production of fine railroad equipment. No other company can match our exemplary safety record, and no other company can match the degree to our customer (and employee) satisfaction. In fact, our satisfaction levels for both have been so high that FLW has been awarded the Legoland Business Council's Gold Award for several years, and has consistently maintained a Ministry of Labour certification of 1.
FLW's customer service is also frequently commended for its professional, prudent service. Problems are quickly dealt with by our group of trained mechanics, who are always on call and ready to provide assistance should your company ever require it.
FLW locomotives are used by virtually
every railroad in Legoland. Here are some of our largest customers, domestic
